Primary and Secondary Admissions – September 2024
The admissions process for school place applications in September 2024 is under way and the website is now live for parents/carers to make their online application.
For children due to start school for the first time or transfer to a junior or middle school the closing date for applications is 15th January 2024 and the national offer day is 17 April 2025. The primary and secondary admission guides for the 2024 admissions process can be found on the government website www.somerset.gov.uk/admissions.
In previous years the Admissions and Entitlements Team have written to every parent/carer of children due to start or transfer school explaining how to apply, key dates and where to find further information. Due to budgetary constraints they no longer write individually to parents. Information can be found on their website www.somerset.gov.uk/admissions. Chaser texts and/or letters will still be sent if they have not received an application by a certain date prior to the deadline.
