Fill a Sock for the Philippines
Children at Mark C of E First School started a ‘Fill a sock for the Philippines’ collection.
In assemblies the children heard about the needs of the families left without clean water, food and shelter and wanted the contribute to the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC).
The DEC brings 14 leading UK aid charities (like Oxfam and Action Aid) together in times of crisis, to coordinate huge relief efforts like this recent typhoon disaster.
Throughout the week children brought in their socks full of loose change and together they collected the fantastic sum of £337.47.
