Health Week – Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds!

Monday 23rd – Thursday 26th May 2016

Dear Parents,

Next week, as this half term draws to a close, there will be a focus on 'Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds' in school.  We have some fun activities planned, particularly with exercise, healthy eating and well-being in mind. Don't forget to join us for Sports Day on Wednesday at 2pm for some team and individual races.

We invite the children this week to:

  • Wear comfortable clothes instead of uniform, ready for sporting activities.

  • PLEASE bring £1 towards the cost of the planned activities.

  • Bring a fruit or vegetable ONLY snack every day for break times.

There will be some tasty choices on sale every day for just 20p

  • Walk, cycle or scoot to school every day.

We know the road is very busy and we want everyone to remain safe, so do take care.

  • Complete a '5 a day' challenge card & be entered into a special class prize draw. The children will have a record card to be completed by Thursday 26th May.

  • Record (in school) what you eat each day for lunch - is it healthy?

The children will learn some key lessons about healthy lifestyles and healthy relationships.

Here are some of the other activities we have planned:

Tuesday 24th May

Wake & Shake for parents – please bring a friend to join in with us at 9:00am. The more the merrier!

Skipping Challenge for all classes

Wednesday 25th May

Sports Day 2pm on the school field.  Come along and support, and join in the Mums’ or Dads’ race if you are feeling up to it!  There's a Toddlers’ and Pre-school race too!

Thursday 26th May

SuperSchools Presentation – A visit from Olympic triple jumper Julian Golley.

Don't forget Friday 27th May is an Inset Day!

Yours sincerely,

A Yates
