Christmas Arrangements – Please Keep for Reference
As this time of year tends to be very busy both at school and at home we thought that we would give you a list of events taking place over the next few weeks to help with your planning.
Once again the children will be performing a Christmas play which will take place in the village church. As a church school we welcome this opportunity to use this lovely building for our celebrations although we do appreciate that it has limited viewing and seating. This means we will have to limit tickets to two per family.
Saturday 29th November – Mark Church Bazaar 2 – 4 pm.at Mark Village Hall.
Monday 1st December Tickets on sale for “Born in a Barn” written by
Mrs Nikki Hewson. Ticket Price £3.
Friday 6th December – All costumes to be in school in a named carrier bag.
Monday 8th December –Woodpeckers rehearsal in church all day. Please drop your children at 8.55 am at the church. They will need a packed lunch. The remainder of the school will be taken by coach to rehearse in the afternoon. Please collect all the children from the church at 3.30pm. Those who are going to after school clubs will be transported back to school at 3.15 pm.
Tuesday 9th December – 6.30pm evening performance in church. Your child should be in position in the church by 6.15 pm prompt wearing their costume. The performance will last for about 1 hour and refreshments will be very kindly provided by the PTFA.
Wednesday 10th December – 1.45pm afternoon performance in the church. The children will be transported there by coach. Please collect your child from the church at 3.30pm. Those who are going to after school clubs will be transported back to school at 3.15 pm.
Tuesday 16th December – Traditional Christmas lunch provided by the school meal service. If your child does not normally have school lunch but would like to on this day please send £2.35 in an envelope clearly marked Christmas lunch and their name and class as soon as possible.
Thursday 18th – Party lunch organised by PTFA, food donated by parents (no school lunches). Special visitor pm! The children may wear “party clothes” on this day but in the light of the very cold weather please make sure they are appropriately dressed as they will still be playing outside! Woodpeckers will be going swimming as planned but will not miss out!
Friday 19th December – End of term service in the church, please bring your child to the church, the service will start at 9.15am. Breakfast Club will be held at the church on this day. The children will be transported back to school by coach.
End of Term.
Sunday 21st December – Christingle Service in Mark Church at 3 pm
Monday 5th January 2014 – Children return to school.
Please can you sign and return the attached consent form which will cover your child for the rehearsal and performance in church on 8th & 10th December and the service on 20th. Please return by 4th December at the very latest.
Breakfast & After School Clubs
Breakfast Club and After School Club will run at school as normal on every day. We will organise for the Woodpecker children to be taken to the church on Monday 8th Dec. We can also arrange to collect children from the church on 8th and 10th December to bring them back for After School Club. The sports coaches will be here as normal. Please can you let us know if you want to make use of the transport so that we can provide the right sized vehicle, this transport will be funded by the school.
