Hello everyone,
Over the coming weeks we will be providing you with lots of teaching ideas and information. Your children are very special indeed and we hold their well being at the forefront of our minds. For this reason, take your time, try not to rush your child, take it at their pace and endeavor to make their learning as practical and fun as you can.
If you want to share something you can do so via our Class Blog on Purple Mash under the 'share' tab. Any positive messages or wonderful ideas will be gratefully received!
Take care and stay safe,
Mrs Williams and Mrs D'Ovidio.
Share afternoon
We had a fantastic time during our 'share afternoon.' It was wonderful to see so many parents attend and the children had the opportunity to share their reading skills within the classroom. Well done to all!
Mary Anning Workshop
Heron Class enjoyed discovering more about fossils, bones and dinosaurs during our science-based investigation workshop. We explored prehistoric life by handling fossils, building a plesiosaur skeleton and decorating our very own ammonite. We also discovered some interesting facts about Mary Anning: Dorset’s famous fossil-hunting pioneer. Well done Heron Class!
English
We have been busy learning the story 'The Gigantic Turnip' by Aleksei Tolstoy. The children have really enjoyed practising their talk for writing text. Try and have a go!
The children loved the book "Golden Domes and Silver Lanterns" which we explored as part of Inter-Faith Week. The book was about the world of Islam, celebrating its beauty and traditions. We read the story and chose a colour to represent our personalities. We hope you like our colourful lanterns!
We have been busy learning the story 'Beegu' by Alexis Deacon. The children have really enjoyed practising their talk for writing text. Try and have a go!
